about me

i started writing my blog a couple of years ago when i worked for Kidd Kraddick in the Morning – i never realized how much i enjoyed writing until then – i had a baby girl (my first) in February of 2008 and found that i didn’t quite have the time to dedicate to blogging that i had pre-baby – but i recently (and unwillingly) joined the ranks of the unemployed and while i’m not thrilled with the prospect of no longer having a job, it has given me the time to blog again

so many things have changed since the days of my KKITM blog and since i no longer work there, i decided the best thing to do was to start brand new – but i wasn’t sure exactly where to start – basically the majority of my life consists of me being a wife and mother and while that’s exciting to me, i realize it may not be all that exciting to anyone else – but it did get me thinking … becoming a mom totally changed my outlook on life and the kind of parent i thought i would be – all of a sudden i’m a cloth diapering, co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding, babyfood-making mom!!   i also had Sydney’s ears pierced when she was 4 months old, dress her in the girliest clothes i can find and “force” her to wear huge bows that are bigger than her head!  why?  because i’m one of those moms – the kind people talk about behind their backs while pointing and whispering, “oh, she’s one of those moms” – yep, that’s me!

I miss you on KKITM, and your Remix was fabulous. I’m glad you are blogging again. Your blogs are wonderful and I look forward to them. I could totally relate to the pressure (self induced) of a first b-day party. My daughters are a year and 4 days apart. So I have to have the perfect DOUBLE SISTER PARTY. Yep, I’m crazy. I remember last year agonizing over the font of the silly, I mean perfect invitations.
I’m still mad at Kidd- I know it wasn’t personal, but why are those other phone people still there?
    Ok, I’ll chill out!

I am just happy to see someone else out there in the DFW area that is proud to cloth diaper, ext. breastfeed and co-sleep! I am due in Sept with my first and am planning a natural birth at the Allen Birth Center. I am going to breastfeed, cloth diaper, and co-sleep. I have had mixed reactions from my family and my husband, but I stand strong and believe that this is the best thing for me and my baby. Great blog!

No wonder i have not heard you in a while on Kid Kraddick. I had always hoped you would be added along with Kelly, Kidd, Al and J-Si.

I miss you, your voice and you beating up J-Si!

Best of luck to you and your expanding family.

May God bless and keep you always!

    Hey Dianthe,

Just heard your birth story on the morning show… amazing.

I must meet your new little one.

I had all my 3 natural as well and my middle son’s name is also Myles.

Great minds think alike I suppose.

Hit me back and let me know when I can bring your lunch.

    Rosanna

Girrrl, I just heard your birthing story this morning on the drive in to work. Ok. So I’m one of those women who don’t chase down birthing shows, but will watch one if I’m channel surfing and the mom is in the midst of pushing. Once the baby arrives, I cry like a nut and then continue my channel-surfing. Well I’ll be darn…the moment you said you gave one more push and the rest of Miles’s body arrived, I bawled uncontrollably with no warning given to the cool and collected part of my brain. All I can do is embrace this incognito part of my personality. Thanks for sharing your story on the radio.

I really enjoy your website and want to take a moment of your time to inquire about any guest posting opportunities that you may have on your blog. I’ve written an informational and educational article on the importance of early childhood education that I believe your readers of (http://oneofthosemoms.com) would be interested in.

Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Your dad sent me the link to your blog. I have just finished reading all of them. Hilarious! You write so well. I can visualize your kids and the scenarios and dialogues you describe. Bravo!

  13. Shannon Blackwell with TCBN pointed me in the direction of your blog – we wanted to invite you to our premier showing of Birth. I can see by your blog you are passionate about families and women. So we thought you might be interested in the upcoming production of Birth – presented by BOLD Fort Worth. Birth is the story of eight mothers’ experiences giving birth. The play is part of BOLD (Birth on Labor Day), a global arts-based movement aspiring to create childbirth choices for mothers around the world. The play will open in DFW on September 23, 2011, and run for two days, showing us how low-risk, educated women are giving birth today. http://www.boldfortworth.org
Would you be interested in helping us spread the word? Maybe we can do a ticket giveaway to one of your readers? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time.

Love that you are at least doing the weekly recap of KKTM. I miss your voice though! Your kids are adorable and I’m sure you are a great mom. Do you still have your wedding planner business? With 2 kids? Hope all is well and that you and yours stay healthy and happy! Kat
